In the toolbox this month we feature our fully on-line, free and open access digital library established by CST along with a group of other seminaries. Our Open Access Digital Theological Library (OADTL) is a terrific FREE resource for students and alumni/ae. As of October 1, the OADTL provides advanced library discovery services for, and access to, more than 135,000 e-books and more than 200,000 full-text, peer-reviewed articles.

As CST alumni/ae, you have access to all of this and more! The mission of OADTL—which is owned and operated by the Digital Theological Library, a non-profit corporation in support of religious studies education—is to “curate high-quality content in religious studies and related disciplines from publisher websites, institutional repositories, scholarly societies, archives, and stable public domain collections.” Its sponsoring seminaries are (as of 6/30/18): Claremont School of Theology (CA); Denver Seminary (CO); Evangelical Seminary (PA); Gordon-Conwell Seminary (MA & SC); Hartford Seminary (CT); International Baptist Theological Study Centre (Amsterdam); Lexington Theological Seminary (KY); and Singapore Bible College.

Content curated in the OADTL includes: Open Access content from Publishers (e.g., Brill, de Gruyter, University of Chicago, Cambridge, Oxford, etc.); Open Access Journals; Institutional Repositories (e.g., CST, Harvard, BYU, Duke, Asbury, Yale); Scholarly Societies (e.g., Society of Biblical Literature, Numismatics Society); Public Domain & Creative Commons Providers (e.g., Princeton Theological Commons, Hathitrust); Museums (e.g., Metropolitan); and Denominational Archives (e.g., Lutheran & Methodist churches).
