This week I want to look back on another part of the CST campus that has been highly influential throughout the years, Mudd Theater.
Construction for the Seeley G. Mudd Communications building began construction in 1971. After two years of construction the building was dedicated on April, 28th 1973.
Mudd helped Claremont, then STC, stay at the front of the emerging focus on film in theological education. Additionally, it has been the performance space for a number of study and community led plays throughout the years. It continues to host the Whitehead International Film Festival and serves as a practice space for a number of groups in the greater Claremont community.
I hope that you all appreciate all of these photos of Mudd from the early 70’s and i’ll be back with the archives blog after our fall break next week!
