The Office of Admissions is pleased to welcome Heather Hawkins as CST’s new Director of Admissions and Enrollment Services. In this role, Heather will lead and manage all systems-related processes and functions within the Office of Admissions, Recruitment and Enrollment Services in Salem, Oregon.

Heather is a lifelong Salem Oregonian and is thrilled to be joining CST. With more than twenty years’ experience in church ministry and nonprofit management, her passions are recruitment, strategic planning, fundraising, pastoral care, local activism, and community relations.

She says, “I am passionate about the growth of Claremont School of Theology and to introducing CST to people in Salem. And I am excited about recruiting students from across the globe who will be the next generation of faith and justice leaders!”

Heather previously served as the Director of Community Relations for Family Building Blocks, overseeing one of the largest volunteer and university internship programs in Salem. She also serves in many leadership roles at Salem First United Methodist Church – including working toward the full inclusion of LGBTQIA+ persons into the life and ministry of the church, providing leadership on the Christian Education committee, and facilitating a monthly support group for agnostics and those in recovery from conservative faith traditions (called “Sunday School for People Who May Not Believe in God”).

President Kuan said, “Heather has already been recruiting students for us, so it is wonderful to have her on board. Her energy and enthusiasm will serve CST and the Office of Admissions well.”

Heather begins January 21, 2020, and is available via email at hhawkins@cst.edu.
