Die Reverend Melissa Roux MacKinnon ist Elder in der United Methodist Church. Sie hat Gemeinden sowohl in der North Carolina Conference als auch in der California-Pacific Conference der UMC betreut. Ihre Führungsrollen umfassten die Tätigkeit als stellvertretende Pastorin, leitende Pastorin und als Distriktsuperintendentin für den East District und später den North District der California-Pacific Conference.
Rev. MacKinnon earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Bakersfield, and her Master of Divinity from Duke University Divinity School. Before discerning a call to ordained ministry, she worked in the field of mental health.
After time spent living in London and North Carolina, Rev. MacKinnon returned to her home in Southern California in 2002. Beyond the local church, she has served on various denominational and ecumenical bodies, including the District and Conference Boards of Ordained Ministry for Cal-Pac UMC, the Professional Consultation Committee Admissions Task Force for the Clinical Pastoral Education Program at Methodist Hospital, the Arcadia Interfaith Action Group, and the Board of Directors for Family Promise of Santa Clarita Valley.
