Assistant Professor of the Practice of Ministry

Rev. Blair Trygstad Stowe is a lifelong United Methodist and was ordained as an elder in full connection with the California Pacific Annual Conference in 2021. Rev. Stowe has served congregations in rural Georgia, urban Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, and suburban Massachusetts. Each setting of her pastoral ministry has included the development of new ministries with young and emerging generations in every setting, as well as revitalization of historic communities.

Rev. Stowe’s academic work is in the field of Practical Theology with a specialization in Evangelism and Missiology. Her dissertation (in progress) is a feminist critical and constructive engagement with contemporary Protestant studies in Evangelism, building on the work of Letty M. Russell.  Since 2017, Rev. Stowe has served on the advisory board for the World Methodist Evangelism Institute, a joint project of Emory University Candler School of Theology and the World Methodist Council.

Rev. Stowe teaches and trains in the academy and churches in various areas of pastoral ministry, church leadership and administration, congregational development, spirituality and discipleship, intergenerational spirituality, intercultural and community engagement, and practical application of liberation theologies. Rev. Stowe is a proud contributor to The Progressive Christians Podcast and serves the Westwood UMC community (CST’s physical home) as Public Theologian in Residence. She lives in West Hollywood with her family and loves biking down Santa Monica Blvd to come to work at CST.

一個偉大嘅神學教育會拆毀你所有以為係「正確」嘅嘢,同埋幫你用真正嘅理解去重建。我嘅 CST 經歷係改變咗我嘅人生。我已經改變咗,並且燃燒緊去改變世界。.
