Melissa Roux MacKinnon

Interim Director of Field Education

The Reverend Melissa Roux MacKinnon is an Elder in The United Methodist Church. She has served congregations in both the North Carolina Conference and the California-Pacific Conference of the UMC. Her leadership roles have included service as an Associate Pastor, a Lead Pastor and as District Superintendent for the East District and later the North District of the California-Pacific Conference.

Rev. MacKinnon earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Bakersfield, and her Master of Divinity from Duke University Divinity School. Before discerning a call to ordained ministry, she worked in the field of mental health.

After time spent living in London and North Carolina, Rev. MacKinnon returned to her home in Southern California in 2002. Beyond the local church, she has served on various denominational and ecumenical bodies, including the District and Conference Boards of Ordained Ministry for Cal-Pac UMC, the Professional Consultation Committee Admissions Task Force for the Clinical Pastoral Education Program at Methodist Hospital, the Arcadia Interfaith Action Group, and the Board of Directors for Family Promise of Santa Clarita Valley.
